What is Ghost Meeting?

A ghost meeting is a booked meeting room that nobody turns up to use. The recurring invite outlived the project, the meeting moved online, or the organiser forgot; either way the room shows busy while standing empty.

Ghost meetings are why “we need more meeting rooms” is often wrong. Room check-in with automatic release typically recovers a meaningful share of capacity without building anything: unclaimed rooms return to the pool after a grace period.
