What is Attendance Tracking?

Attendance tracking is measuring who comes to the office, when and how often. Sources range from badge swipes and Wi-Fi presence to desk bookings and check-ins, each with different accuracy and different privacy implications.

Two rules keep it healthy. Measure at the level you need and no deeper: policy compliance rarely requires minute-by-minute location. And be transparent: people accept aggregate utilisation measurement far more readily than silent individual surveillance. Under UK GDPR, proportionality is a legal test, not just good manners.
