What is Systems Administrator?

A systems administrator is the hands-on operator of an organisation’s systems: identity directories, servers, applications, permissions and the automation that ties them together. For workplace platforms, the sysadmin is usually the person who configures SSO, connects SCIM, sets roles and owns the integration health.

Good workplace software respects the sysadmin’s time: standards-based identity rather than proprietary logins, an API for anything repetitive, audit trails when something needs explaining, and documentation written for someone who reads documentation.
