Site access covers who is allowed onto a site, which areas they can reach and during what hours. It combines physical controls such as barriers and readers with the records that say who was authorised.
For contractors it is usually conditional: access is granted once the induction, insurance and any permit to work are in place, and limited to the areas the task requires.
