A quiet room is a space with one rule: no noise. It serves deep-focus work, sensory breaks for neurodivergent colleagues, migraine recovery, or a pause after a difficult call. Unlike a meditation room, it is usually furnished for working silently rather than for reflection.
Open-plan and hybrid offices need them more, not less: on busy anchor days the floor is loud precisely when everyone is in. Book them in short slots, keep phones out by convention, and place them off the main circulation route so the door does not defeat the point.
