Workplace glossary

What is Phased Return?

A phased return is a temporary plan that brings someone back to work gradually. It might involve shorter hours, fewer days, lighter duties or a staged increase in workload.

It is common after parental leave, sickness absence or injury, and should be written clearly so the employee and manager know what changes each week.
