What is Digital Reception?

A digital reception replaces or supports a staffed front desk with self-service check-in: a kiosk, tablet or QR code that greets visitors, records who they are, notifies their host and prints a badge where needed. Deliveries and contractors follow their own streamlined flows instead of interrupting whoever sits nearest the door.

Offices adopt digital reception for three reasons: the front desk is unstaffed some or all of the time, compliance requires an accurate record of everyone on site, and hosts want to know the moment their guest arrives rather than when reception finds them. It pairs naturally with visitor pre-registration, evacuation lists and meeting room booking, since the visit usually ends in a booked room.
