Computer vision is AI that interprets images and video: counting people in a space, reading a number plate, detecting whether a desk is physically occupied. It is the technology inside ANPR parking cameras and camera-based occupancy sensors.
In workplace settings computer vision trades richer data for heavier privacy obligations. Counting anonymised heads on a floor is one conversation with employees and regulators; identifying individuals is a very different one. Most offices get what they need from booking data, check-ins and simple sensors, reserving vision systems for car parks and entrances where they clearly earn their keep.
