What is Real Estate Footprint?

An organisation’s real estate footprint is the total space it occupies across all sites: offices, floors within shared buildings, and flexible memberships. Reducing the footprint, through consolidation, subleasing or exercising breaks, is usually the largest single cost lever a workplace team can pull.

Footprint decisions stand or fall on evidence of how space is actually used, which is why desk utilisation and occupancy data sit at the centre of them.
