Contractor management is the process of controlling and recording third-party workers on your site. It covers the checks done before they arrive, such as insurance, competency and a method statement, the induction and sign-in on the day, and the record kept afterwards.
It differs from ordinary visitor handling because a contractor performs work, which brings permits and safety duties into scope. The record has to survive an audit or an incident investigation, not just tell reception who is in the building.
