Flexible workspace has two meanings and they are worth separating. In property it means space taken on short or variable terms: serviced offices, managed suites and coworking, as opposed to a conventional long lease. In workplace design it means an office arranged so the same floor can serve different needs through the week.
Both rest on the same requirement. Flexible space only works if people can find and reserve what they need on the day, and if someone can see afterwards what was actually used. Without that record, flexibility becomes uncertainty, and teams quietly go back to fixed desks to feel safe.
