What is Automated Parking?

Automated parking, in the workplace sense, means running a car park without manual administration: spaces are booked in software, arrivals are verified automatically by ANPR cameras or sensors, unused reservations release themselves, and permits flex with attendance instead of sitting fixed to a windscreen. The term also covers mechanical car-stacking systems in dense cities, but for offices it is about automating allocation and enforcement rather than moving cars.

The reason organisations automate is arithmetic: a fixed-permit car park is typically part empty on any given day while staff without permits are turned away. Automation reuses those gaps the moment they appear, and it gives facilities teams occupancy data instead of anecdotes when the “car park is full” complaint reaches them.
