Guest management is the process of inviting, registering, checking in and looking after people who visit your workplace but do not work there: clients, candidates, contractors and personal guests. The term is interchangeable with visitor management; organisations with a hospitality culture tend to say guest, while security-led environments say visitor.
A guest management system typically covers pre-registration and invitations, check-in at a kiosk or front desk, host notifications, badge printing, NDAs or safety briefings where required, and a live on-site list for evacuations. Done well it shortens the queue at reception and gives the guest a first impression that matches the meeting they came for.
