What is Host Notifications?

Host notifications alert an employee the moment their visitor arrives: a message to the channel they actually watch, sent by the sign-in itself rather than by a busy receptionist ringing round.

It is the single biggest fix for guests sitting unattended in reception. Good implementations add escalation, so if the host does not respond within a couple of minutes a deputy or the front desk is alerted, and the visitor is never the one left wondering.
