What is Workplace Risk Assessment?

A workplace risk assessment identifies what could cause harm in the office, who is at risk, and which controls reduce the risk to an acceptable level. UK employers with five or more staff must record significant findings; most jurisdictions have an equivalent duty of care.

Hybrid working changed the inputs: attendance varies daily, visitors and contractors come and go, and desk layouts move. Live occupancy and visitor data make assessments evidence-based rather than annual guesswork, particularly for evacuation planning covered in our evacuation checklist.
