A request for proposal (RFP) is the formal document enterprises issue when buying competitively: requirements, evaluation criteria and contractual terms that vendors respond to in structure. Workplace platforms hit RFP territory once multiple sites, IT security review and legal are involved.
Strong workplace RFPs test the things that decide success later: adoption evidence and check-in rates from references, SSO and provisioning depth, data residency and certifications, localisation, and what migration actually involves. Feature checklists alone reward the vendor with the longest list, not the platform people will use.
