What is NABERS (Australia)?

NABERS (National Australian Built Environment Rating System) rates Australian buildings from one to six stars on measured performance: actual energy, water and waste data rather than design intent. Commercial offices over a size threshold must disclose their energy rating when sold or let.

Because NABERS scores real consumption, occupier behaviour moves the number. Matching HVAC and services to actual occupancy, rather than running full-building settings for half-empty floors, is one of the cheapest rating improvements available.
