WHS (Work Health and Safety) is the Australian legal framework, mirrored by New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, placing a primary duty of care on organisations to keep workers and visitors safe so far as reasonably practicable.
WHS duties follow the worker, including to home offices in hybrid arrangements, and they cover contractors and visitors on site. Accurate records of who is in the workplace, and evacuation-ready live lists, are the operational backbone. The US equivalent is OSHA; the UK’s runs through HSE.
