BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the UK-born sustainability rating for buildings, scoring energy, water, materials, wellbeing and management from Pass up to Outstanding. It is the dominant scheme in the UK and widely used across Europe.
For occupiers, BREEAM matters at lease decisions: rated buildings command stronger demand, and corporate ESG policies increasingly require them. Occupancy data contributes too, since running services to match real attendance is part of operating a building efficiently.
