What is DSE Assessment (UK)?

A DSE (display screen equipment) assessment is the UK legal requirement, under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, to assess workstations used by employees who work with screens: chair, desk, screen position, lighting and breaks.

Shared-desk offices complicate DSE because people change workstations daily. The practical response is DSE-compliant standard setups across all shared desks, adjustable equipment as the default, and bookable specialist desks for people with assessed adjustments.
