What is Asynchronous Communication?

Asynchronous communication is collaboration that does not require everyone to be present at the same time: written documents, recorded videos, threaded discussions and comments people respond to on their own schedule.

Async is what makes flexible and cross-time-zone work sustainable, because it shrinks the number of meetings that need a shared hour. The office consequence is fewer but more deliberate synchronous moments, which concentrates demand for collaboration space on the days teams choose to gather.
