What is Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC)?

Moves, adds and changes (MAC) is the facilities process for relocating people and reconfiguring space: moving a team to another floor, adding desks for a new hire wave, converting cellular offices to collaboration space. In fixed-desk offices, MAC was a constant, costly churn of physical moves.

Shared-desk models collapse most MAC work into software. Moving a team becomes redrawing a neighbourhood boundary on a floor plan rather than moving furniture and re-patching desks over a weekend.
